i had that, pulseaudio would lock up
oh oke
Hi! I'm using Ubuntu 16.04 on a surface pro. I'd like to be able to access the USB ports. I'm using a USB cable to do so, as I have no other way of doing so. I'm not able to see any way of opening the USB ports. Any help is appreciated
I tried using the usb settings GUI tool but nothing happens
Poster, post that tool again, that gui tool is not available for surface pro
he is the only one, on linux at least
OerHeks: I ran the command that was mentioned in that link you gave me
oh, never seen it before
It says nothing is using them
you can try sudo lshw -C usb > usb-conf.txt
OerHeks: One thing, does the command "sudo lshw -C usb" require me to be logged in?
OerHeks: I'll pastebin that
OerHeks:
Poster, that tool is no gui tool, just use the devicebrowser, the usb portis enabled
OerHeks: I'm trying to use the phone as a modem for a tablet, so it needs to be the default port (the phone)
Poster, this is your issue then:
and no, it is no gui tool, or would be out of the scope of this channel
device browser is a gui tool.
OerHeks: OK. Thanks for your help
does that page give any answers?
