There are three kinds of bears, a brown bear, a sloth bear and a panda. The brown one may be seen wearing armor with the symbol of the cat king, the panda always wears armor and a sword, but without a symbol.

There are three colors of boars. Grey, white and pink. The grey one may be seen wearing armor with either a yellow, red or purple shield. The white and the pink one may be seen in only one type of armor. The white one's helmet, when armored, has antlers attached to it. The pink and the white unarmored boar's flank bears the symbol of the cat king.

Alright, I swear I saw this somewhere, but I'll be dipped if I can find it now: somebody, somewhere - possibly even here - made a post talking about their game mechanic of dropping a cadre of bears on their players at random times, but I cannot remember any details except one: In a forest? Suddenly bears. In a city? Suddenly bears. In an airship? Suddenly bears. On the moon? Suddenly bears.

These weren't even special bears. Not city circus bears, not sailing bears, not moon bears. Just bears. Am I just imagining this? Or is this a real, nonsense mechanic one (or more) of y'all uses to spice things up and keep your players on their toes? My players are getting a bit uppity and cocksure; I want to throw some curve balls at them for the next few months.

The oldest dungeon designed for Tunnels & Trolls anywhere, The Complete Dungeon of the Bear is now available for use by any T&T Game Master. Previously published in three separate booklets, this one book contains all the traditions, traps, tricks, and monsters found in the original, plus Michael Stackpole's Castle Ward, the ruined edifice that stood over the entrance to the Dungeon of the Bear. The complex becomes increasingly dangerous the deeper it is delved, and characters of some experience should be able to find their own level of challenge within.

The bear is a pet you can tame and have follow you throughout the dungeon. Its bite is very powerful, and it can munch monsters as powerful as minotaurs in just a few clamps of its powerful jaws. Once tamed the bear loves to stay close to you, and hearts will appear when it touches you.

The Dungeon of the Bear is a dungeon scenario.[1] Halls echo with the clash of swords and the tramp of Orcish boots. Monsters - Orcs, Trolls, wicked Warlocks and others store the treasures won by their villainy here. Castle Ward, built to prevent adventurers from entering the monsters lair, lies abandoned after an outbreak of dungeon creatures reduced it to semi-ruins.

From Reddit user atomfullerene comes this delightful tale of how he and his pals combined baking and a love of snack foods with D& D. The edible dungeon is built on a bed of gingerbread, while the walls are constructed out of graham crackers. The mortar for the graham cracker walls is actually icing sugar, while the walls themselves are topped with various forms of candy, such as M&Ms, candy corns, and Mike & Ikes.

Since this is just a single encounter, the Fifth Edition rules are slightly modified. Health and magic are kept track with HP and MP (instead of spell slots), with the rules pared down to make them a little more accessible for the players. Also, pacing is an important factor when dealing with a candy dungeon crawl; going more than 4 minutes without being able to eat a mob is cause for a player revolt.

Brown bears are wild animals that live in colder forests. This group of bears includes the famous grizzly bear, which is frequently ill-tempered and certainly deadly to even well-prepared adventurers.

Bears are, in general, large and powerful animals which are found throughout the world's temperate and cooler climates. With dense fur protecting them from the elements and powerful claws protecting them from other animals, bears are the true rulers of the animal kingdom in the areas where they live.

One common misconception people hold about bears is that they hibernate during the winter. In fact, they sleep most of the time, but their metabolism does not slow down, and they often wake up and leave their lairs during warm spells.

The brown bear, of which the infamous grizzly is the most well known variety, is a bear of very aggressive disposition. Brown bears are more carnivorous than their smaller cousins, the black bears. The grizzly in particular will often bring down large game such as deer and elk.

Brown bears are aggressive hunters. If a brown bear scores a paw hit with a roll of 18 or better it will also hug for 2-12 (2d6) points of additional damage. Brown bears will continue to fight for 1-4 melee rounds after reaching 0 to -8 hit points. At -9 or fewer hit points, they are killed immediately.

Cave bears are quite aggressive, willing to attack well-armed parties without provocation. If a cave bear scores a paw hit with an 18 or better it also hugs for 2-16 (2d8) points of additional damage. Cave bears will continue to fight for 1-4 melee rounds after reaching 0 to -8 hit points. At -9 or fewer hit points, they are killed immediately.

Bugbears, like other goblinoids, had a reputation for being dim-witted and brutish. This claim was not unfounded, and like their kin bugbears had easily provoked tempers and were prone to rages. Few bugbears overcame this flaw and their culture's brutal nature.[12] Many bugbears were chaotic evil in alignment, favoring stealth and surprising their opponents.[10]

Bugbears were often found in the company of other goblinoids, particularly goblins, since tribes made up mostly of hobgoblins and bugbears tended to be wiped out quickly by other races as a precaution.[12] Some bugbears also operated independently, though tribes ruled by hobgoblins were better organized and less savage. This was in part because bugbears had little patience for diplomacy or negotiation, preferring violent solutions to conflicts unless obviously overpowered.[2]

Bugbears once had their own pantheon, led by Hruggek. Bugbears often decapitated their enemies as a way to honor Hruggek, who was said to do the same.[2] From the Spellplague to the Second Sundering, the power of Hruggek was diminished and the god served as an exarch of Bane, the god of tyranny.[13] However, after the Second Sundering, bugbears began to follow bugbear-specific deities such as Hruggek once more.[9]

Kite and Elk run into Bear at the bottom of a dungeon. Kite thinks he's Orca at first, but Bear says that he's not even close to being that famous. Bear introduces himself as a newbie helper, but says that players of their level really don't need his help. After staring at Elk for a bit, he admits that Elk reminds him of an old friend. As a token of their meeting Bear gives Kite his sword. Later he can be found wandering around the Root Towns; he has several rare items available to trade.

Travelers throughout the region profess the wonderful loot found within the dungeon. Hunters of Goblins will find Calling Cards to be plentiful, allowing for rapid mastery of Goblinese. Adventurers seeking potions, armor, and weapons will find it on Goblins, while their trained animals can provide a source for meat and skins.

Also of note, it contains a quest to defeat the goblin boss and rescue the fairy Sarina, which leads to learning Art History. There are also many spawns for various art objects within the dungeon to help you train after you learn the skill.

An Art Gallery in the Northern section of the dungeon that is notable for a different layout than the rest of the Art Galleries, and being the only spawn point in the dungeon for a few Psychic Mantis and Simple Mantis. 2ff7e9595c
